Adult reading coaches
Read Easy Bath
Helping an adult improve their reading one-to-one.
You meet with an adult for 2 x 30 minute sessions per week in a local venue to help them to read. No training is required as Read Easy offer full training. Once trained, you will be paired with an adult who wants to improve their reading. Together, you work through the Turning Pages phonics-based reading programme, supported by your Coordinator and a literacy specialist. Coach training sessions are provided by the literacy specialists 6 times a year which you should attend as much as possible and which gives you a chance to meet other coaches and discuss reading issues.

If you can read and write, with Read Easy, you can help an adult read and write! It is helpful to be empathetic, patient and encouraging. Basic IT skills to answer emails and messages.
Read Easy Bath was set up in 2020 and we already have a thriving community of coaches. You would play a significant role in offering support to people who, for any number of reasons, missed their opportunity to learn to read at school. It has been extremely rewarding to see people's lives transformed by reading, gaining confidence and enabling them to see new opportunities and employment . Our volunteers give someone a skill that allows them to fulfil their goals and live everyday life more easily. It’s life-changing and you can be part of this!
2-3 hours per week (depending on travel) plus coaching sessions (6 times per year for 90 minutes)
