Music Volunteer - Youth Clubs
Orchestra of Everything Foundation
Share your musical skills with young people in our new evening youth clubs in Bath
OOEF delivers free music education to 270 children aged 7–11 at two Bath primary schools in deprived communities — massively high impact, with a 39% reduction in suspensions and the attention of the DfE and Bath Spa University. Our evening youth club continues the journey, run with Youth Connect South West and endorsed by Police Early Intervention Team, who see music as a frontline tool against gang recruitment and knife crime. You'll teach instruments, support group projects, and work as part of a team. Playing an instrument or singing is required for this role.

This role sits at the intersection of musical skill and youth work. Young people in the club are continuing instruments they began with us at primary school -- they need a leader who can genuinely take them further musically, not just supervise. At the same time, many come from complex backgrounds where a trusted, consistent adult makes an enormous difference. We are looking for someone who can offer both: musical credibility and real warmth with young people. Formal teaching qualifications are not required. We will provide training and mentoring as needed.
Deeply rewarding work in a community that genuinely needs it. You will develop skills in youth engagement and informal education, work alongside an experienced and passionate team, and see the direct impact of your sessions on young people's lives. Training, mentoring and references provided. DBS arranged at no cost. Currently 6.30 - 8.30 on a Tues and Weds evening at Southside, but we are planning to move it slightly earlier. You could come for part of the session if you can't make all of it, and as you build relationships with the young people, you could incorporate some virtual/video lessons, so this could work if you're only in Bath for certain times during the year (e.g. students, returning students) This may also be possible on other days as we start similar activities in other youth clubs
