Supporting staff and families in children's groups etc, gardening, buggy walks
• With support from the group lead, assist with the planning and organising of activities that follow the interests of the children whilst extending their learning • To maintain the same standards of behaviour as the council expects from its paid employees, particularly in respect of safeguarding, confidentiality, courtesy, equalities, disciplinary matters and health and safety issues • To share tasks necessary as part of the general safety, upkeep and cleanliness of the environment and resources, which contribute to the general well-being of children and the team

• Good communication skills • Ability to relate well to people of all ages and abilities • Ability to handle information sensitively and confidentially Volunteers will be subject to an enhanced DBS check Personal Qualities • Enjoy working in partnership with children and families • Enjoy being part of a team • Commitment to anti-discriminatory and inclusive practice • Ability to respect and uphold the values of Bright Start Children’s Centre and Bath and North East Somerset Council • The role will include some variety of sitting, bending, standing and walking to facilitate childcare and play related activities

We do ask for a commitment to this volunteering role which, when agreed, will be weekly for a period of at least 6 months. We understand that this might need to change for personal or family reasons. We hope to have matched you with a volunteering role that reflects your interests and abilities.
