To take notes for families attending school meetings about their child with SEND
Sendias Bathnes offers free, confidential and impartial information, advice and support to children and young people (aged 0-25) with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their parents and carers. Meeting Support Volunteers support parents by taking notes during meetings with professionals, about their child with SEND. These meetings will take place in schools and other locations across BANES. Signposting parents and children / young people to other local organisations, where appropriate This role does not include offering information or advice during meetings

We are looking for people who can spare a few hours each week or fortnight, to support families who are attending school meetings about their child who has special educational needs and/or disabilities. Someone with good notetaking skills, interpersonal skills, who is confidential and impartial.
This is a flexible and rewarding role. Full training and supervision will be given. Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
This is a flexible role, which can work around existing commitments. We ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of six months.
