Research involves a variety of tasks, each requiring different skillsets. Information Gathering Basic IT skills (e.g. using search engines, accessing online databases) Ability to conduct desktop research and identify credible sources Conducting Interviews or Focus Groups Empathy and active listening Strong communication and facilitation skills Good organisation and time management Data Analysis Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools Ability to create graphs, tables, and visual summaries Skill in identifying patterns and trends in data Report Writing Clear and professional writing style Strong communication and critical thinking Attention to detail and ability to structure information logically

The desktop research can be done remotely, with optional in-person meetups. Interviews, focus groups and other engagement data collection methods are in-person. Healthwatch Banes does not have its own office so we organise meetups and engagement at various community venues.
