Museum of Bath at Work
Museum of Bath at Work is looking for Trustees at an exciting time of change for the organisation.
We are changing from a mostly industrial museum (located in a Real Tennis Court building dating from 1777) to one which also explains the social history of Bath and its environs, telling stories and engaging our city’s residents. Now we are looking for new people who can help us raise our profile to the wider world. So, if you have skills and experience in: Marketing Public Relations Fundraising Museums & heritage management Administration and Company Secretary role - we would love to hear from you!

This is an exciting time of change for the Museum. Having secured a 3-year National Lottery Heritage Fund grant last year, we have an enthusiastic small team engaging with the local community so that we can widen our scope and opportunities, working under our Director, Stuart Burroughs. We are re-imagining how the Museum presents the story of working Bath, and we will welcome your energy and enthusiasm to help us achieve our ambitions.
Three Board meetings per year held in Bath, usually on Friday afternoons. Trustees all contribute to the Museum in various ways – either as members of working groups, business planning, or staging exhibitions. It’s helpful to be based near Bath but not essential since meetings or research can be undertaken remotely. Some working group meetings take place on Wednesday mornings, monthly; other working group meetings are less frequent. We can be flexible around availability.
