Volunteer Driver Coordinator - Winsley - 3 hrs Mondays or Tuesdays and 3 hrs Thursdays or Fridays)

Dorothy House Hospice Care

Help coordinate our drivers to bring our Day Patients to/from Dorothy House Hospice for their appointments and for them to meet other patients.

Detailed Description

We are currently looking for a volunteer to support us with a new role at Dorothy House. Our patients often need drivers to bring them to Day Patient appointments, join groups, have lunch and meet other patients. These sessions are normally set up over 10 weeks, so we are looking for someone to organise new lifts from the patient’s home to Dorothy House at Winsley and back to their home afterwards. Ideally you can offer 2 half days a week (6 hours) either on Mondays/Tuesdays and Thursdays/Fridays to co-ordinate driver requests from our Patient Service Team. You will be responsible for: contacting drivers via our Assemble system, or via telephone, and booking these sessions on Assemble. changing or cancelling appointments, if patients are not able to attend. Emergency planning with drivers and hospice staff when nursing staff need to get in/out of the hospice in times of adverse weather conditions. Accessing front-end version of System One to access patient’s address and update System One record with driving information This is a role that requires administration and a quick turnaround for any changes or cancellations that may occur during the week. Full training on Assemble and the patient System One and any other generic training will be provided. You will also have regular line management and supervision.
