Team Leader for adult literacy charity - Read Easy Bath

Read Easy

We are looking for an enthusiastic Team Leader to take over our established, successful Bath Read Easy team. Read Easy is a charity providing free and confidential one-to-one reading coaching for adults. If you have leadership skills and are looking for a rewarding position in the voluntary sector, this may be for you.

Detailed Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to take over from our current team leader to lead our volunteer team of management committee members and reader coaches. This role would appeal to anyone with an interest in helping adults in our community who can't read. You will manage meetings, set direction for the project, network with the local community and be a passionate spokesperson for your group. The role is varied, interesting and time-flexible. There are 2.4 million adults in England alone – over 7% of the working age population – who can barely read or cannot read at all. Learning to read as an adult can be life-changing and break inter-generational cycles. Our Readers have often kept their literacy struggles a secret – too embarrassed and ashamed to seek help. Their bravery in coming to Read Easy means that you can help spark the transformation in their lives. Please see readeasy.org.uk for further information.
