Events Volunteers - various dates and hours
Dorothy House Hospice Care
We run regular events over the year from our Coffee Mornings to our Christmas Tree Collection, to help raise funds to help provide vital patient care. You could be doing anything from helping welcome people, marshalling, setting up and taking down, serving refreshments or running stalls.
We have so many big Dorothy House led events such as our Men’s Walk to Support, Big Avon Paddle or our Santa and Elf Run to name a few, we couldn’t do them without the generosity of volunteers to make them happen. We also have our smaller community led events where we may need volunteers to set up stalls, bucket collect or serve refreshments. These events are an important part of our fundraising, so you’d be making a direct and important contribution to the work of Dorothy House. You may be: Serving refreshments Welcoming members of the public and signing in participants Directing people – stewarding and marshalling (people and cars) Talking about the work of Dorothy House Cheering on runners/walkers/paddle-boarders Setting up/down events

The skills you need Be friendly and helpful Have good communication skills Be reliable Be able to work under your own initiative (with full instructions provided)
Help a local charity and give something back Learn new skills Gain more confidence Make new friends All training and induction to Dorothy House provided Out of pocket expenses can be reimbursed
As and when available to provide support for events which can be a day, part day or evening. Normally events are split into shifts
