Somer Valley Rediscovered
With the support of Somer Valley Rediscovered colleagues and partners you will receive training and equipment to enable you to survey and record details of local wildlife species. Volunteers will help with species and habitat surveying with a particular focus on: * invertebrate monitoring and Butterfly monitoring * grassland management
Join us and help Somer Valley Rediscovered conserve this beautiful landscape, steeped in heritage and nature. Volunteering with us is a chance for people in the Somer Valley to improve wildlife habitat and accessibility of greenspaces in the area. In turn this helps connect people to nature, supports and enables positive local action and improves health and wellbeing. We are recruiting a team of volunteers to help with species and habitat surveying and monitoring.

This role may appeal to people who: * are interested in learning in outdoor environments. * enjoy working independently and as part of a team. * have an interest in wildlife. * have some experience, or who have no experience and want to learn new skills.
You'll: * develop knowledge and experience of grasses and wildflowers and invertebrate species identification * learn surveying skills and techniques in which support accurate species recording * have access to training sessions and informal skill sharing. * There will also be opportunities for formal training for regular volunteers looking to up-skill * have the opportunity to get some gentle exercise in the fresh air and meet new people * be part of a friendly and dedicated team We can provide a volunteer reference.
This is a seasonal and flexible role; our surveying and monitoring work takes place in spring and summer.
