Volunteers to move deliveries of food and pack away ready for pantry members to access. Trolleys and other equipment provided. Some manual handling involved. All training provided.
Oasis Pantry are looking for volunteers who can help to move deliveries of chilled, fresh and ambient food in preparation for our pantry sessions. There is a degree of manual handling involved, as they items are delivered in crates. Trolleys and other equipment will be provided. All relevant training will be provided, We have two location - one in Roundhill Centre on Mondays from 10.30 - 11.30am, and one in Oasis Church in the city centre on Thursdays from 10.30-12 noon.

Some manual handling of heavy items is involved, therefore volunteers for this role must be able to physically carry and lift items of around 10kg for short periods. Other roles are available which do not involve lifting or carrying
Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in community service, which can bring a sense of satisfaction and purpose. This could also lead to opportunities to become involved in other areas of community work, and could provide experience for job-hunting and CVs.
